Fall 2018 Star Hill Jamboree Sportsmanship Award

Congratulations to LSC U12 boys rec team and coaches Noel Raymond and Sean Archer!!

A very well deserved award will be given to this U12 team as they were singled out and recommended by the officials and NE District personnel at the Star Hill Jamboree for the Sportsmanship award!

Note from Star Hill:
We are not surprised at all by this recommendation as LSC always has great programs. Nice bunch of players, coaches, parents. A pleasure to have them all at Star Hill. We hope more rec teams will participate in the future.

Abby Wambach: Prominent Former Women's US Soccer Player

Note from Glennon Doyle & her family:

This is my wife (Abby) and my daughter.
After every soccer game our daughter plays, my wife says one thing to her and asks one question of her:
1. It was so fun to watch you play!
2. How do you feel about the game?

Also: My wife is one of the greatest soccer players of all time. She knows what Tish did right and wrong and what she could do better next time. She knows!

But what my wife also knows is this: Our daughter has a coach. She needs a mom.

Kids are quitting sports in record numbers. A few of the reasons they give:
Too much pressure.
Too much yelling.
No fun.

Soccer parents: Be soccer parents.
Unless you know more than my wife does, of course.
Love, G

2019 Team Volunteers

Volunteers Needed For the Spring Season

The Head and Assistant Coaches are volunteers in charge of anything related to the training of the soccer teams. They have at least a basic understanding of the game of soccer.
The Head and Assistant Coaches need to be available for all practices and games.
Main duties include but are not limited to;
Running practices
Deciding on what skills and concepts need to be developed
Teaching the rules of soccer
Coaching during games
Communicating with families and LSC officials
Head coaches work out various roles with their assistants based on interests, knowledge, and experience as well as the team's needs.
All head and assistant coaches are required to undergo a background check to help ensure player safety.
The head coach is responsible for attending a coaches meeting per season with our coaching director as well as a district wide scheduling meeting to help schedule games with district coaches for the season.

Parents also can volunteer to help coordinate team activities. Please contact your child's coach to inquire about the specific kinds of ways you may be able to help. These may include:
Looking up directions for away games and sending them to the head coach
Signing up families to bring halftime drinks and snacks for each game
Sending email reminders about upcoming games
Help coordinate an end-of-season party

Please remember that moving forward (beginning the fall 2018 season), all coaches and volunteers MUST be registered as such on our website. Visit the home page of our website to register. Thank you all so much for volunteering to make our soccer season a tremendous success.

About the Lebanon Soccer Club

Mission Statement: The mission of the Lebanon Soccer Club is one that is founded on the principles of player development and sportsmanship. Each and every individual player, regardless of ability, shall be given an equal opportunity to succeed in our program. Our goal is to improve the playing ability of every player in the LSC; at no time will this be compromised to the benefit of the few. Proper conduct by all members of the LSC during practices and games is expected regardless of the conduct of others. Respect for each other, the opposition, the referees and spectators, shall be exhibited at all times.

Lebanon Soccer Club is a non-profit, fully parent/volunteer-run organization set up to provide soccer programs for boys and girls ages 4-14 for the town of Lebanon and surrounding towns who do not offer a soccer program. LSC is not affiliated with the Lebanon Recreational Department, however, we do work closely with the town of Lebanon to provide soccer opportunities for your players.

All club activities are planned and performed by parent-volunteers. This includes maintaining fields, providing equipment, organizing fields and refs, scheduling 100's of games, coordinating with neighboring towns, registration, maintaining this website, paying the bills, planning events, our annual tournament and so on. And of course, managing and coaching close to 200 kids for a season. All together this work requires many many volunteer bodies and hours each season.

Our goal, with the help of all of you, is to offer a fun atmosphere of soccer to our children, and many positive experiences that will create lasting memories that they will remember far into their teen and adult years. To those that continue to offer your time whenever and wherever needed.....thank you.

New Board Members!

Our Annual Board Meeting was Wednesday December 5th at 7pm at Roberto's Log Cabin where we welcomed brand new faces to the Board of Directors. We are very excited to once again have a full board with passionate and dedicated individuals.

Please help us welcome:

Noel Raymond: Coaching Director

Tammy Raymomd: Fundraising Director

Chris Watkins: Field/Referee Assignor
