Weekly Wrap-up

-U8 Girls-

With the season delayed by contract negotiations, and only one practice under their cleats, the Lebanon Unicorns under-promised and over-delivered in their home opener against tough opponent, CWSA.  In a classic tale of four quarters, the game was off to a slow start, but the squad didn't take long to get into a groove. A pair of wrecking balls on offense in Saige and Havana saw EIGHT goals hit the back of the net. Coupled with the brick wall defense by Alaynah, Maggie, and Hazel PLUS the brilliant mid-field play-making of Rowan and Fallyne, this team shows real promise. Untied shoelaces, illegal throw-ins, and summer humidity did all they could to disrupt their rhythm, but nothing could slow them down as they came out with the 8-6 victory. The team looks to continue their early winning streak as they prepare for their next match when they take the pitch against league rival Coventy on Saturday.

-U10 Girls -Rec Division-

The Lebanon girls won their first match against Coventry! No referee, field changes, players who have never played before and they did amazing despite the chaos!

-U10 Girls - Comp Division-

In their first match of the season, Lebanon took on a talented and  scrappy Coventry team. Lebanon lead 2-1 at the half and the two teams fought neck and neck for the majority of the second half, but Coventry's depth proved to be too much for the Lebanon girls, who gave up several goals in the waning minutes of the match. The match ended with a final score of 7-3. Goals we scored by Norah Constant (2) an Roslynn Constant.
The teams second match was scheduled to take place on Sunday, but ended up postponed due to the weather and field conditions.
The girls will look to bounce back on Thursday when the take on WAM for their first match at home.

-U10 Boys - Rec Division-
